pattern- The repetition of an element or elements in a regular way in art or nature.
natural shapes- Shapes that come from nature- plants, animals, etc.
collage- an art project made with glued paper that is cut or torn into shapes
above & below- describes location in relation to other objects or shapes
overlap- when a shape covers part of another one

1st
line- The path of a moving point. Lines can make many things. 3 things line can do are make shapes, make patterns, and make movement.
contour line- Lines that outline shapes.
natural shapes- Shapes that come from nature- plants, animals, etc.
stencil- a shape that is made and then traced multiple times to assist in pattern making and background setting creation.
light and dark- opposite values used to make flat shapes look more round and real

warm colors- oranges, yellows, and reds.
cool colors- blues, greens, and violets

foreground, middleground, and background- Used to describe the front, middle, and back of a landscape or cityscape.
3d space- A sense of depth in a work of art. It can be done through overlapping, size and detail change.
symmetry- Created when one side of a shape or an object matches the other if folded in half.
natural shapes- Shapes that come from nature- plants, animals, etc.
implied volume- when a shape looks 3d on paper due to the use of light and dark/ tints and shades
3d shape- a shape that looks more round and real than a flat shape
tint- color plus white, used to make a color lighter and to add to implied volume
shade- color plus black, used to make a color lighter and to add implied volume
proportion- describes the relative size and scale of parts in a whole.
fraction- represents equal parts of a whole. May be used to describe proportions in art.

contrast- Created when opposites are used in art. It makes parts of an artwork stand out. ways of creating contrast are using light v. dark colors, using opposite colors, using thick v. thin lines
