art wish list

Here is a list of things that I would love to have for the art room. Our supply budget has gotten smaller each year. If you or anyone you know is ever looking to support an art program that serves a a large, diverse, super creative student population, think about helping out room 18 with one of the items below:)

It would be awesome to have the lego architecture studio set for the classroom lego center. It comes with over 1000 pieces, plus a book that gives you ideas for things to build, but not step by step directions. The kids love this center for early finishers. It would be great to expand the options and materials available to them.

An ipad mini for the classroom. I have an old, slow mac as my computer art center right now. It would be so cool to have one of these for students to be creative with.

The art classroom can never have enough gluesticks.

The same can be said for black sharpie markers.

The students are using dry erase markers this year to do sketches and quick writes. They are going to go through a lot of the markers.

We do a lot of tempera painting in class. I have found that using dry tempera cakes can produce a wide variety of effects. They are my go-to paint medium. The 9 color Prang set is pretty sweet.

Since we do a lot of painting, we go through a lot of watercolor paper as well. Canson makes a student quality paper that is great for our kids' creative needs.

If you have any questions about any of these items, feel free to contact me at dmasse@sandi.net
